oracle emailOn May 12th, Realogic President Dale Vanderlaan co-presented a half-hour webinar entitled "Budgeting in a Software as a Service Model" for the Oracle Real Estate Users Group.

In a joint effort with Shani Hall from Regency Centers, each presenter examined:

  • the pain points common to the budgeting process,
  • the general benefits of the Software as a Service ("SaaS") model, and
  • how SaaS is an ideal delivery system for commercial real estate budgeting.

Mr. Vanderlaan started by reviewing the basic benefits of cloud delivery (including multi-user access and the elimination of hardware or Citrix® costs) then moved on to the challenges more specific to commercial real estate budgeting. Before completing his portion of the presentation, he demonstrated the Realogic playbook for integrating budgeting systems with accounting and valuation software, step by step.

Ms. Hall's presentation specifically detailed the case study of how Regency Centers outgrew their budgeting process. Their process had been heavily reliant on IT to transfer data between JDEdwards™ and custom applications developed in-house for leasing assumptions and market information. With Realogic Budget® and its associated R.I.S.E.™ Technology, Regency now is able to integrate JD Edwards with their custom apps without relying on IT.
